September 20th Inspirements - Freedom and Science

Welcome to our Eureka Blog. I am so excited for this class - I love learning from nature! This will be an interesting week as we look at some of the controversies in the study of science. I don't intend to tell you what to agree with, but I do hope this will increase your awareness and get you thinking and exploring new ideas.

Core:
Everyone, please prepare the following before class.
  1. Watch: Expelled: Intelligence Not Allowed OR look at the pictures and read the captions of the Universal Model chapters 1-4
  2. Write your thoughts in your reflection book or journal OR in the comments below (you may link to a blog, Facebook post, Word Doc, etc.) about what you think or about one or more of the following questions: How is science  (as it is currently taught) affecting our culture? Is it helping us become more or less responce-able (responsible)? Why is this an issue if we are supposed to have freedom of speech and opinion? Who is responsible for this lack of freedom? What can you do to help people be more aware? Why would God want you to study science? What responsibility do you have in that study?
  • OR    Find a way to share what you learned in a way of your choosing - poem, art, video, music, computer presentation, etc.
      3. Bring a discussion question to class
